Gardening Workshops

There will be three gardening workshops for Spring 2008:
  • Learn the secrets of growing a vegetable garden
  • How to plan, prepare and plant an ornamental garden
  • Learn the art of designing and planting containers


Vegetable Gardening Workshop

33rd & Race Sts. in Powelton Village, Philadelphia
UCAL/PHS members: $10.00 Non-members: $15.00
Join landscape designer and community gardener Steve McCoubrey in the Summer/Winter Community Garden and learn how to plan, prepare and grow a successful vegetable garden. Topics will include soil preparation, when and what to plant and how to care for your garden. Workshop will include a tour of the garden.

Ornamental Gardening Workshop

UCAL/PHS members: $10.00 Non-members: $15.00
Follow the process from start to finish as UC Green with Landscape Designer Steve McCoubrey installs a new ornamental garden at 4611 Woodland Ave. We will cover how to prepare, plant and maintain a mixed garden and which plants are suitable for this area and where to buy them.
